On the day, your starter locs are installed with the palm roll method after a cleansing wash and scalp oiling. You leave with honest aftercare guidance, a maintenance rhythm, and a stylist who will walk the whole journey with you, from budding to fully mature locs.

As a guide, a few inches of healthy hair gives palm rolling something to hold, but the honest answer depends on your texture and density. Yes. I offer kid starter locs for ages seven to twelve at $185, installed gently with the same palm roll method and natural products. Children's appointments are patient and unhurried, and a parent is welcome in the suite. We talk through aftercare together so caring for their new locs at home feels simple, not stressful.
Your locs will bud, frizz, and test your patience; that is the journey, and it is normal. You will come back for starter retwists about every four to six weeks while they mature, and I will coach your at-home care at each visit. Most clients find their locs settle into themselves beautifully within the first year.
